What Chances Are
Fathers’ Day, What Chances Are…
As we get set to celebrate a day that really should be recognized more significantly than it is,
I took a little time to write this little poem, maybe its even a lyric.
Give a little attention, and see if it gets you thinking some, and remembering that man you called Father.
Chances are he welcomed you when you first came in
Chances are he had you washed away from sin
Chances are he saw your first hit
Chances are he taught you to sit
Chances are he taught you how to win
Chances are you taught you to take it on the chin
Chances are he taught you how to fight
Chances are he taught you its not all about the might
Chances are he has a special smile for you
Chances are, he lifted you up when you felt blue
Chances are, he yelled at you some,
Chances are, sorry, but you deserved it, son
Chances are, he worked hard all day,
to make sure you were all okay
Chances are, there were times you made him mad
Chances are, sometimes you made him sad,
Chances are he let you fall,
Chances are he helped you up to stand tall
Chances are you made him lose sleep
Chances are he still loves you deep
He taught many lessons, in his own way,
and tried to steer you from going to far astray
So Chances are this Father’s Day
You’ll give him a thought, some time or stay
Chances are he doesn’t ask for much. But don’t forget, his heart can still be touched
So if your Dad is still around this day,
Chances are, you should say
” HAPPY FATHER”S DAY”
We Love You!!
