Coast Guard

Each year on Aug. 4 Coast Guard Day is held to recognize and honor the efforts of The United States Coast Guard. This celebration is considered an “internal” event for active and reserve Guard members, plus their civilian employees and retirees and members of the Auxiliary.

The Coast Guard is a branch of a country’s military or a separate agency responsible for maritime security, search and rescue operations, and the enforcement of maritime laws.
